Marketing and Communications Director 

The Well: The Well is a community of women being transformed through long-term relationships, practical programs, and the healing power of love. 

Hon’s Honey: Hon's Honey is a social enterprise dedicated to giving dignity and purpose to women survivors of trauma— addiction, trafficking, generational poverty and abuse.

Hon’s Honey Marketplace: Storefront that houses a coffee bar and our products. A  healing space for our community to gather. 

Requirements:

  • Comfortable working in a faith-based organization

  • 24-32 hours/week- part of work can be done remotely but some in person required

  • Trauma informed with an understanding of working in vulnerable communities

  • Passion for at risk women

  • Self-motivated

  • Strong organizational and time management skills, project management and ability to prioritize

  • Excellent computer skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • 3-plus years of communications, marketing or public relations or related experience

  • Experience managing digital content

Qualifications / Skills:

  • Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency with communications technologies ( Google Drive, Squarespace, Canva, Microsoft Suite)

  • Understanding of copywriting, graphic design, layout, and publishing

  • Familiarity with social media platforms and social media marketing- including paid and owned channels

  • Experience with search engine marketing, Google Analytics

  • Impeccable copywriting and copy-editing abilities

  • Excellent verbal communication and presentation skills

  • Nonprofit experience (preferred)

The Director of Marketing and Communications will oversee all marketing and assist with communications for both The Well and Hon’s Honey. This individual will need to have strong written and communication skills, organizational skills, work ethic and follow through and come to the position with 3+ years experience in marketing. The ideal candidate is an ambitious team player with a positive can-do attitude and is eager to learn and help reimagine how we go to market and build our brand. 

Job Description:

Content Creation 

    • Create blasts, targeted emails, social media, blogs, etc.

    • Monthly planning meetings with Marketing Manager for planning of content, dates and topics 

    • Conceive and implement  new ideas for campaigns, digital and written content

    • Edit and approve wording, pictures, and graphics for all posts, emails, stories, blogs, web pages etc. 

    • Oversight of physical signage, pamphlets, marketing materials

    • Develop, monitor and communicate tracking. Manage ROI metrics for marketing

    • Supervision of Marketing Manager 

    • Supervision of all content created and released by the Marketing Manager (see job description below)

Branding 

  • Manage cohesive branding across all social media and websites

  • Elevate branding, increase  awareness to established demographics

  • Collaborate with the product development team for new product branding (labels, research, seasonal items, gift sets, etc.)

Marketing Strategy 

  • Direct and write monthly Board and Quarterly Marketing Strategy Reports

  • Implement new marketing techniques and niche marketing tools

  • Analyze all social media, google and sales analytics

Assess and assign sales 

  • Analyze trends in sales

  • Pick sale dates and sale specifics 

  • Manage and assess marketing strategy

Squarespace Oversight (Hon’s Honey, The Well, and Hon’s Honey Marketplace)

  • Complete all edits ensuring the websites are current and consistently reflecting the organization’s mission and branding

  • Overseeing automated emails as needed 

  • Direct restructuring of any websites

Communication 

  • Assessing, viewing, editing, and restructuring all written content

    • Writing fresh content, stories, mission posts

    • Assist with communication for all campaigns

    • Learning Story Brand, and how to apply this concept to our written content

Story 

  • Uphold and train staff on ethical storytelling 

    • Ensuring  policies are being followed and updated

  • Initiate interviews and questionnaires of mentees for marketing purposes 

  • Update copy folder in drive, keeping items organized and up to date

  • Oversee and check all media release forms prior to published content

Media 

  • Media mentions added to the drive

  • Managing staff to update all media mentions 

  • Assist with Press Releases

Networking 

  • Engage and pursue all marketing and networking opportunities

  • Assign/Follow up with Marketing Manager on marketing opportunities

Photos 

  • Organize product photos as needed

    1. Seasonal photos, Lifestyle photos

  • Gift set photos

  • Organize team and production photos

  • Organize website product photos listing

Campaigns and Events

  • Plan, schedule and create material for campaigns and events

  • Oversee graphic design contractor for branding efficiency
