Drink at the Well Statement of Faith
This statement of faith is not an all-inclusive declaration of our beliefs and standards, but rather a general guideline of our biblical faith and practices.

We believe that the Scriptures, consisting of the Old and New Testaments, are divinely inspired and without error in their original writings. They are, therefore, our final authority in faith and life.

We believe in the one and living true God, who exists eternally in three Persons: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.

We believe God was Himself in Jesus Christ and that He came to earth to reconcile man to God. Conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary, He joined together the deity of God and the humanity of man. Jesus of Nazareth was God in mortal flesh, experienced human suffering, was crucified, died physical death, and was buried. He did this to reconcile God the Father to humankind and to be a sacrifice for the sins of all men and women-past, present, and future.

We believe that Adam and Eve were created without sin, but through their defiance in the Garden of Eden, they fell from their original innocence. As their offspring, humanity is corrupted by very nature. Therefore, we are all born in sin and are subject to death and judgment, apart from divine grace.

We believe Christ offered once and for all the one perfect sacrifice for the sins of the whole world; no other satisfaction for sins is necessary; none other can atone.

We believe in His bodily resurrection from the grave.

We believe men and women can be saved from sin and come into possession of eternal life by realizing they are sinners, believing that the Lord Jesus Christ has provided salvation through His own shed blood at Calvary, and faithfully accepting His forgiveness for sins. Salvation is by grace, through faith in Christ as personal Savior and sin-bearer; it is an entirely free gift from God and cannot be achieved by any person’s work.

We believe that the Holy Spirit proceeding from the Father and the Son, is equivalent in significance, majesty, and glory with the Father and the Son; Father, Son, and Spirit are coequal individuals within the one eternal God. The Holy Spirit indwells all believes, and as they yield to His control, He enables them to obey the will of God and to lead holy lives, separate from the sins of the world.

We believe the Holy Spirit distributes, as He wills, gifts of speech and service devoted to the common good and the building of His ministry. Gifts are to be exercised under the authority of Jesus Christ. The believer is to seek as evidence of the Holy Spirit’s fullness not the gifts themselves, but the giver, who is Christ. The gifts are of the Spirit are to accompanied by the fruit of the Spirit. The life of the Spirit, as displayed in the life of a believer, is characterized by the pure love of Jesus.

We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in Christ and that all believers are members of the Church universal. Our ministry is representative of the Body of Christ, of which He is the Head (Romans 12:4-8).

We believe that all Christians are called and commissioned by the Lord to live to the glory of God and lead others to Christ.
